I won a cheap bottle of wine in a drawing contest at work. We were in a training session and had to draw a pic of someone in the room that inspires us. I drew an oil pastel portrait of my neighbor Souri. I chose her because I wanted to draw her striped nautical inspired shirt with the red sweater around her shoulders. I made her eyes purple for lack of a brown oil pastel. I think that was the winning choice. Why doesn't someone just hire me to draw on chalkboards and draw portraits in oil pastels??? I think I am better at these things than I am at filing and faxing and routing phone calls. I chose to follow a business path in college IN LOU OF an art path - didn't want to do the whole starving artist thing. But... now I'm starving anyway so I should've been an artist at least I'd be having more fun and my quirks would be due to my creativity - not my crazy.

things that have happened

Well my pals threw me a surprise birthday party! I have wanted a surprise party MY WHOLE LIFE. But you can't just ask for a surprise party... "hey lou, what do you want for you bday? a surprise party??" So finally, after 25 years, I got my surprise. Kent and Sis are so great! And Bill Nye the Science Guy was there coincidentally. And Sis made me a sign and hung it in the living room. (It's still there a week later...) And the funny thing was this years party had the crop of friends who didn't make it to last years party! So, I've celebrated with all my friends at this point it was just divided over two different birthdays!

tv boyfriends

Here are my tv boyfriends. How would I ever decide if I had to pick just one? Curtis can cook but may be gay. Adam is adventuresome but frugal. Max and Jason are funny but might be too indie cool for me. Good thing that's a decision I'll never be forced to make. tv boyfriends are limitless!

While listening to my new favorite Miley Cyrus song on YouTube (don't judge me) I stumbled upon these kids. They are so cute. Kina Grannis is amazing you should look her up. I just want to put them in my pocket and tote them around with me to show all my friends! Lurve.
